Southeast Sports Festival
By participating in the 2010 Alabama Sports Festival, individuals and teams are eligible to compete in the 2010 Southeast Sports Festival. All participants are eligible regardless of their performance or placement at the 2010 Alabama Sports Festival.
Athletes from states that currently do not offer one of the sports being offered at the 2010 Southeast Sports Festival have been granted permission to enter the 2010 Southeast Sports Festival.
The 2010 Southeast Sports Festival offers Individuals and teams that participate in their local 2010 National Congress of State Games sport event (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina and Virginia) the opportunity to compete against State Games participants from those states. The following states have also been granted provisional permission to participate in the 2010 Southeast Sports Festival (Arkansas, Louisiana, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia).
“Polk County is very excited to be selected as the host of the 2010 Southeast Sports Festival,” said Marc Zimmerman, Sales and Events Manager for Central Florida’s Polk County Sports Marketing. “This event will help to bolster the local economy at a much needed time. Having hosted the Sunshine State Games for the past three years hosting the Southeast Sports Festival is the next logical step.”
Polk County venues currently scheduled to be used for the Southeast Sports Festival include The Lakeland Center, Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Lakeland’s Simpson Park and Frostproof High School.

Southeast Sports Festival History
2010
Polk County, Florida will serve as the Local Organizing Committee for the 2010 Southeast Sports Festival.
2008
The Florida Sports Foundation served as the Local Organizing Committee for the 2008 Southeast Sports Festival. The Games were held in Tallahassee, Florida, and were a great success with athletes attending from across the Southeast competing in several different sports.
2006
The Inaugural Southeast Sports Festival was held in the cities of Shelby County, Alabama
2004
The State Games of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi and North Carolina came together to discuss the concept of a regional multi-sport festival. Each state recognized the importance and value of providing athletes with the opportunity to advance to another level and showcase their talents on a regional playing field. From this discussion, the Southeast Sports Festival was born.
